WHO AM I?

For starters, this is my head.

ABOUT

( Here is a bio that I definitely did not write myself, as evidenced by it’s referring to me in the third person. )

Gianna Orzo is a writer/producer based in New York, NY. Well, that seems dishonest.  She currently resides in Hoboken, which I guess makes her based in New Jersey, but she was raised in, lived in, and mainly works in New York-- and she’s not giving up her city status that easily. She still hasn’t changed her license to reflect her new address, probably never will, and is now wondering if that’s illegal in which case lol JK.

Gianna graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Media Production before moving into the world of promos on the network side of things.  After a few years of honing her skills at CBS, she found a better fit for herself at creative studio Cause + Effect. There, she concepted and wrote everything from integrated promos and digital shorts, to branded content, launch campaigns and sales tapes. Having written for the likes of Will Arnett, Zachary Levi, SYFY, Nat Geo, AMC and Lifetime (to name a few), Gianna has earned awards from PromaxBDA and the Clios, as well as an Emmy nomination that was definitely for something really cool and not a children’s Youtube show.

Since transitioning to full time freelance in 2019, Gianna continues to work closely with a variety of clients and is proud to be part of the teams at ViacomCBS, FreeRange VFX and Houses in Motion.

After 10+ years in the industry, Gianna has curated the ability to quickly come up with concepts and content that resonate with both clients and their audiences. However, her writing and creative extends beyond google docs full of tag lines she thinks are better than the one that new show actually chose. After college, Gianna studied improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade and PIT theater, while simultaneously performing stand-up throughout the city. Now, her focus has narrowed to writing--  cultivating web series, features, shorts and anything else that allows her to tell stories. She just wants to make cool stuff. For you, with you, by herself, near a dog, in the smog, on a log— You get it.

In her free time, Gianna enjoys cooking, baking, crafting, videos of startled and/or slightly overweight animals, handmade Halloween costumes and eating ice cream at any time of day. She believes the best things in life are free (but made way better with money) and that dodging the Sunday Scaries should be an Olympic event, of which she would never medal.
